As you already know, quitting smoking is not easy. To help improve your chances for success, you need to think about the following issues and write down your thoughts.

  1. Your desire to quit smoking – Find out everything about how tobacco smoke damages your body. The more you know, the higher your desire is to quit.
 
  1. Your motivation to quit smoking – Find out the real reason you want to quit. For example, your health concern for your heart, your liver, your lungs, or diabetes; for your kids and grandkids; because you love and care for your family.
 
  1. Dealing with unpleasant withdrawal symptoms – Learn about the common withdrawal symptoms and ways to deal with them.
 
  1. Be persistent – Modify your lifestyle, habits, and living environment to avoid the temptation of cigarettes. Stick to the goals you have set for yourself and learn new hobbies to keep yourself from smoking.
 
  1. Adopt a positive mindset – You have to believe in your ability and that you have control over your way of thinking, your body, and your life. Persist in changing old habits. That way you and your family will live a better and healthier life.
